April 12th in Duluth: Karen Nance leads media coverage in preparation for the celebration of Ethel Ray Nance's birthday and legacy, which will culminate on April 18th.

 

Announcing the launch of "Ethel Ray: Living in the White, Gray, and Black" by Karen Felicia Nance.

This poignant biography unveils the remarkable journey of Ethel Ray, an early African American resident of Duluth, and her relationships with historical figures like W.E.B. Du Bois. The book chronicles Ethel Ray's experiences in the early 1900s, shedding light on her family's navigation through racial landscapes and connecting past struggles to Minnesota's present.
